- Free preview
- No license file is required. One concurrent logical stream per server process, with SRT push or managed pull, local HLS/LL-HLS, recording and thumbnails. Graceful shutdown starts one hour after process startup, including idle time. Restarting starts a new preview hour.
- Offline full license
- A signed, time-limited local license file removes the preview stream and time limits. It unlocks cascade and registry, S3 publication, outbound SRT push, WebRTC/MOQT and built-in transcode/repair. Those features require a full license.
- Local validation
- The server validates the full license at startup and before admitting new work, without online activation. After expiry, already admitted streams continue, while new work is rejected. Renewing the license requires a file replacement and controlled restart.
- Software terms
- Dispergo is proprietary software, identified publicly as dispergo.net. The free preview is offered under the software license; it is not an open-source license. Distribution is arranged with test partners during private alpha. Both runtime images include the license text. The transcode image also retains the packaged FFmpeg, x264 and Opus notices and FFmpeg build information.

Current stage
We are developing and validating Dispergo with test partners during private alpha. Software images, including the free preview, are not publicly distributed yet.
If you would like to take part as a test partner, email [email protected] with a short description of your use case.
Modes and terms
Configure a full license
Mount a signed license as a local readable file and reference it in JSONC:
{
"license": {"file": "/run/secrets/dispergo-license.json"}
}
Merge that field into the normal node configuration. Alternatively, set
DISPERGO_LICENSE_FILE to the mounted file path. An explicit license.file
takes precedence over the environment. Relative paths are relative to the
process working directory. Environment interpolation in JSONC works as usual.
The server authenticates the file using its compiled Ed25519 public key and
checks its product, format and time interval before startup. A configured file
that is missing, malformed, signed by an unknown key, not yet valid or expired
fails startup with invalid_license and status 2. It never falls back to preview.
The license permits all server features without the preview stream or time
limits. Independent configuration, transport and resource budgets still apply.
The licensed interval is notBefore <= now < expiresAt; keep the host clock
correct. License IDs do not impose a hardware binding or a fleet-wide quota.
License text
The full software license is the text shipped with v0.8.0. It is separate from the signed runtime license file used to enable full mode.
